One Week...well, kind of
So, technically, it's six days, but close enough to one week. Next Monday, June 1, I leave Oakland at 10:45 pm. June 2, I land in Boston at 7:20 am. So, one week from today I will be in Boston beginning the next chapter of my life. Have I begun packing? No...I've made a list of what I need, does that count for anything? Have I ordered my books for summer session? No. Have I finished my project? No. (That probably won't get done before I leave, which I will have to let it be. I wanted to finish it, but I suppose it can wait until I come back. It's almost done.) Do I have a computer with internet access to take with me? No. (Planning on getting that my first week in MA...hopefully I'll be able to live and get to where I need to without the internet!) Needless to say, I have quite a bit to do this next week here in California and more to do the following week in Massachusetts. Do I have a place to live? Yes! I do have somewhere to go when I land and thanks to my ever so kind landlord, I have transportation from the airport to my abode. With that, I am off to begin my task of packing, washing my car, and getting ready to leave California. Oh yeah...I almost forgot...I have a final on Thursday that I need to study for as well because if I don't finish the class with a passing grade, I can't start PT school in Boston! Wouldn't that create a twist in my life and the adventure I'm about to begin?!

Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day to every mother out there...I hope your day was blessed and you felt honored and loved in some way during your day! But, a special happy mother's day to my mother! I love you mom and am glad we've been able to spend some time together more recently--I have thoroughly enjoyed it! We went to Ladies Day Away at church yesterday together, which was great! The theme was "Shopping for Time" which is the title of a book (by Carolyn Mahoney) that I suppose was the inspiration for the day. It was a very enjoyable day as well as challenging to me in how I spend my time. I have a few action plans that I will be trying to implement in the coming weeks, before leaving for Boston, to try to establish a little bit of a routine before I move. The most challenging action plan will be waking up early, which is a relevant term. Early for me is very different from early for other people, especially right now since I don't have school or work at any time in the morning (or really ever for that matter, except for Thursday nights). Also, early can be simply: earlier than usual. I want to be more diligent and purposeful with my time, and I think by waking up earlier than I have been, I will be more productive throughout the day and be more deliberate in everything I do. Setting our priorities was another challenge that grabbed my attention as well. By setting priorities, I will be able to work towards a goal throughout my days to grow in godliness or love my family or fellowship with Christians or attend to my work or care for my physical body or serve in church, just to name a few priorities that were suggested during the day yesterday. It was a lovely day and to spend some time with my mom and other women in the church was such a blessing! I love women's ministries events. Women are so adorable! :) And, although you probably won't read this until three weeks or so from now....Happy Mother's Day Mom, I love you!!!

My Little Secret
So, I was talking with my sister and our friend, Arijaan, tonight after a lovely meal at our local favorite Mexican restaurant, Guadalajara, and the topic of blogs came up. They both have one of their own and think I should start one too. Little do they know....just had to throw that out there, so they will remember if and when they finally read this sometime.
One Month
As I was going to bed last night, I was saying good night to my parents and realized that I only have one month left living in California, for the next few years, and only one more month to say good night to my parents in person, with a hug and kiss. I got really sad, and the reality of moving to Boston started to sink in. Luckily, my brother is getting married at the end of June, so I do have that weekend, three weeks after I move, to look forward to coming back to California and seeing ALL my family! Thanks for getting married this summer Nathan and Erin!!! :)

First Post!
So, I have officially begun blogging. I've thought about it for some time now and have finally made the leap, mainly in preparation for when I move. When I am living so far away from my family and current friends, I will be able to keep them updated on my life while being able to live a life in Boston instead of spending all my time on the phone with those who I dearly love! Well, I'm playing a little game with myself and anyone who reads this. Here it is: I don't plan on telling anyone I've started a blog until I move, which is June 1, so if you have found this by chance, let me know! :)
